3. How Corrections Are Made

Our correction process is designed for transparency:

• The error is corrected in the article as soon as it is identified.
• A correction notice is added at the bottom of the article.
• The correction notice states what was corrected, why, and when.
• For significant errors, a note is added at the top of the article.
• Corrections are logged in our public internal monitoring workflow.

Correction notices follow a standard format:

Correction [Date]: An earlier version of this article stated [incorrect information]. The correct information is [correct information]. We regret the error.

5. Timeline for Corrections

• Errors identified internally: Corrected immediately upon discovery
• Errors reported by readers: Investigated within 24 hours; corrected within 48 hours if confirmed
• Errors in breaking news: Prioritized for immediate correction

6. Reporting an Error

Readers play an essential role in our accuracy efforts. To report a potential error:

• Provide the correct information and a source if possible
• Include your name and contact information (optional but helpful)

7. Corrections Transparency

We maintain a structured log of significant archival changes that includes:

8. Removing vs. Correcting

We do not delete articles to avoid embarrassment. We correct errors transparently. Articles are removed only in rare circumstances, such as:

• Legal violations (proven defamation, privacy violations)
• Safety concerns for vulnerable individuals
• Content that was found to be entirely fabricated by a source

9. Corrections in Social Media

When we correct a significant error that was shared on social media, we:

• Post a correction on the same channels where the original was shared
• Delete the original post if it contains serious or dangerous misinformation
• Pin correction notices to the top of relevant discussion threads
